When setting Parking Brake on 1066 wants to roll a little and makes grinding noise before locking in Park. What is wore out or out of adjustment?

It's not a brake.

There is a pawl that engages one of the reverse gears. DO NOT stop the tractor with the park lock. It should snap down when you engage it, if not it needs an update kit or repairs. If you aren't stopped completely first, it will act like you describe and eventually break teeth off the gear or bust the pawl.

I agree, for what that's worth. We have an 806 diesel and had to replace the parking pawl once. It was almost rounded where it should be more pointed. Your tractor definately needs attention because the pawl is the only parking "brake".

It needs to have an over center action when engaged to hold properly. It is not necessarily worn out. If it is original type linkage it is no doubt bent and adjustment may or may not take care of it depending on how bent the link is. Reason they get bent is people force them trying to engage it. Pretty hard to explain on computer but I could easily show you if I was there. If they don't just pop in with a nudge you have to move tractor just a hair and the easiest way to do that is to let off brake and let it move or turn the steering wheel back and forth while tractor is standing still. That does not work of course if you are in a hole or place where tractor cannot easily move. A lot of tractors were converted to a spring loaded park which goes under the cover and then you can just put lever into park when tractor is stopped just like the 86 series.
