John Deere Dain all wheel drive

I was looking through some old papers today (looking for info on the M&W hand clutch) and ran across this packet of stuff on the Dain. I remember visiting with the owner at that time. He was pretty proud of his tractor and seemed to know a lot about it. I had heard he has since passed away. Anybody know what happened to the tractor?

Here's a picture I took of one this fall in Geneseo, IL at the AE-TA Working Farm Show. It was their 50th anniversary and I think this specific Dain was displayed at their first show.

There is or was one at Sycamore Illinois' show. Mother Deeres is argued by them as the oldest, most complete or something...I honestly don't remember the details. The one at Sycamore blew Deeres theory out of the water because of its known history. Wish I could remember the details!

Here are a couple shots of the one at the JD Pavilion in Moline (which is closed for remodeling till Feb). Along with the information they have at the display.

Hello -
My name is Nathan L. Hansen and I am the third grandson of Captain Frank D. Hansen. My grandfather's 1918 John Deere All Wheel Drive Tractor is now in the home of John Deere. My family sold the tractor to Deere for an undisclosed amount in 2004 after my grandfather died.
I currently am working to continue my grandfather's legacy by promoting his story and 1/16th scale collector replicas through a website, going live this spring.

I would like to purchase your grandfathers book copy right 2002. cannot find any place to purcyhase it online. Please let me know if it is still available and where to purcahse one. Thank you.
