2400B???

A friend just offered me a 2400B industrial style tractor with a 3 cylinder diesel and a loader,for cheap money.Are these decent tractors???

Hi, I believe 2400B is based on 454 ag model with
D-179 3cyl German Diesel. There were many
different options on Industrial models, PTO, 3pt,
and fast Fwd/Rev. My brother still has my Dad's
454 purchased in 1974 and it has over 15,000
engine hours and still going strong. A few
hydraulic leaks but nothing major.If you do
purchase it be careful to unlock the parking brake
before moving and add some Diesel fuel conditioner
every time you add fuel.

I have the same tractor, it is a (2400B) 464 ag model with about 7500hrs and smokes some, strong runner,always starts, even at 20below zero here in N Wisconsin,has loader, need alot of counter weight to work good, If your has the glass bowls for the fuel filters, get rid of them and get the spin on retrofit kit it will save tons of problems
