The original cap leaked when the gas sloshed (rough ground), so I replaced it with one from TSC. It's better, but still leaks.
Is the problem that the tank filler ring is so worn that it just doesn't hold the cap tight enough?
Is it possible to spot weld a short drop tube into the tank filler to cut the slosh factor (as I've seen on other fuel tanks)?
Is there a better cap that cures the problem?
Do I need to replace the tank? It's otherwise in good shape.
I'd like to get this cured before I attempt to put new paint on it.
Thanks,
Well Worn
