400 hyd screen

I was changing the hydraulic oil on my 400 and the screen is missing some of the brass screen off of it. Is the screen still available or do I need to try and fid a good used one? Also what should the ignition timing be set at?

Screen is still available from case IH , They are very proud of that screen !!

They show up occasionally on eBay. Think they sell for about $40. Marty2373 from Bad Axe, MI has probably thrown more than a dozen strainers into his brass pile.

The strainer does catch alot of crap. Many are caved in due to suction and an unclean screen.

I suppose it is possible to repair one with new mesh material and good soldering skills.

Only have one 100 series tractor left in my collection and more used screens than I need. If in the lower 48 I will send you a good clean used one for $42.
