Assuming the TA is not interfearing with the master clutch, the clutch pedal should move 1.125" away from the platform stop with little resistance. At that point the throwout bearing should touch and begin pushing the release fingers, making the pedal much harder to push.
When adjusted to this freeplay, it is going to provide all the grip it can.
The tractor must be split to replace the master clutch. I imagine a 500$ bill at the very least for labor. Plus parts. I would (as I indicated earlier) put in a TA clutch, TA ramp/rollers (sprague) and a master clutch pressure plate, dislk and throwout bearing. Because it is split in two places to do this, the bill will be stiff. Get estimates. Jim
