my 806 wont drive and has no power steering. where do I start? The loader still goes up and down and the bailer tailgate still go up and down. The hydraulic fluid is full.

well if ya got pto and hitch and remote hyd. then i would be checking pressure on the MCV , as you say no steering and no go . Does your tel tale oil lite work??? as if it is on then you have no pressure on the MCV . This like also tells ya if the engine has oil pressure so if it is not working then fix it. Now it could also be the main clutch but you would have steering . If you had no hyd. at all and the PTO was not working then it would be the PTO input and hub on the pressure plate .

A common "cure" that is not too expensive is to over fill the Hydraulic system with 5 gallons or so. It harms nothing, and covers a leak in the MCV pump intake system that could be your problem. The vet is correct, Proper eventual fix would be to take it apart and repair the intake. There are many tractors being used daily with extra fluid as the fix. If this does not make it operate, pressure diagnosis of the MCV is next. Jim

what TV said. Also, if the problem is the MCV pump is suckin air, the tractor should drive in TA, just not DD and not have the TA lockup clutch. so if it won"t move at all that says the sprag in the TA is shot.

yES THE LIGHT IS WORKING AND DOES COME ON WHEN THE TRACTOR STOPS MOVING. How do you check the preasure in the MCV assembly???

I like 706/806 tractors but if I ever get one I'm going to put an oil pressure gauge on the engine and pressure gauges on the hydraulics. The idiot light system IH came up with on those tractors was pitiful.
