I recently bought I 58 IH 330 utility and cant find any production numbers on it. Can anyone help with these numbers or tell me a good IH book that talks about IH production.. Thanks

Guy Fay has some books out or did that mention the tractor. Think he lists 4262 made.
Some production numbers can be found for IH tractors at wisconsin historical society web site.

Serial numbers for 1957, 501-1487; 1958, 1488-4763 -- Ken Updikes data book. So Dave missed by one.

Applying arithmetic to the serial numbers often gives a different number than the reported production numbers. A tractor that got scrapped is one of the reasons. Skipped serial numbers is another. In this case, serial number arithmetic gives one more than the official number produced. 4262 is the number reported for the 330.

Yes and sometimes the two are a LOT different.

Check this page on WHS. Note the consecutive serial number blocks of 8 Cubs that were returned and scrapped. Suppose there were 8 in a car load and there was a train wreck?
