25 years ago I cracked a wet sleeve on my 706(310 german).being too broke to overhaul it,I bought a used sleeve(new singles were not available) from a salvage yard(out of a cotton picker).4000 hrs later that thing is still running, putting out 95 hp(turbocharged)and useing no oil!this tractor has 10,600 total hrs with no other engine work.

its done all the time. if your confident the rest is good go for it. you can have a look at the cam lobes when the pan is off. you also would know how the oil pres. is. or can check it with a master guage before disassembly. fr.and rear seals also?
