when putting pistons back in, the rods have a long side and a short side,If sitting on the tractor does the long side of rod go to the left???? and the short side to the right, hope you all know what Im talking about

The side with the cylinder number goes toward the camshaft. Same with the cap.

Thanks I think they can only bolt up one direction

the mating number goes toward the camshaft side of the engine.

On an M if you put them in backwards they will bolt up, but you will not be able to rotate the crankshaft all the way around - thats how I knew I had them backwards.
