(quoted from post at 12:05:08 06/07/11) I run Shell Rotella T, 15-40 in mine, and have had great results.

Yep, Shell Rotella. 15w-40. Other brands are just as good as long as the specs are the same.

I also use Shell Rotella, but in straight 30 weight. My winter use tractor gets 10 - 30 Vavoline, but only in the winter, summer is back to the sraight 30.

I use Pennzoil 30wt in my Super M-TA, same oil that the original owner used in it since he bought it new and I'm the second owner.

Pick your favorite brand. Keep it clean, and keep the filter changed with the oil change.

that is what is important. HD 30, 10w30, 15w40, pick one........if you vehicles take 10w30, then use that.

A lot of visitors come here and ask what oil to use. these are not high rpm, high temp, high compression engines (diesel's aside for the compression). Clean oil and regular changes are what is important.

The best oil is wet and slippery.

You don't want to use that dry, gritty oil. Engines don't last very long.

Heck back in the day when these old tractors were new, there were no additised oils. Now everybody fusses over which is the right oil. If it is in the 30W range you are good to go.
