Farmall M Fuel Line

I have a new to me M that the fuel line fitting coming out of the sediment bowl and also the valve shutoff at the sediment bowl leak fuel. Is there a packing behind the nuts I can tighten up or does it need to be replaced? The tractor sat for 20 years or more and has just been started up again. There is also a screw (adjustment) on the front side of the carburetor that is leaking a little (just always damp). Can this be stopped leaking by tightening up the nut that the screw threads into?

The line to sediment bowl is a compression fitting. it is not a good idea to over tighten it, but sometimes it can be helped with a single wrap of teflon tape on the ferrule. (do not get tape in the line!
The valve does have a string packing (usually compressed to stone)that can be replaced with teflon valve packing string. (farm stores often have it). Again do not overtighten, and clean out the old!
The same procedure can be found at the power richness needle. Jim
