Farmall AM and Super AM Fuse Holder

Does any one have a source of fuse holders for Farmall AM and Super AM tractors? Everything else electrical on these was Lucas, but the fuse holder is different. Also different from US specification Delco Remy equipment.
Thanks,
Henry

I buy them at the auto parts store. I am wanting to say Bus makes them. While they look identical, the knob itself won't fit the old fuse holder. But you swap the whole thing and it works perfectly.

I've gotten them at our local Car Quest, NAPA, & CIH dealer. You'll have to replace the whole fuse holder. The old ones IH used had a couple "teats" on the end cap that would lock into the holder base. New ones use metal clips that catch farther down in the holder. I've found that with the new ones everytime you take the fuse out you have to spread the clips a little to get them to hold when you put the fuse back in. I don't particluarly care for them but they're all I have found. At least they fit the hole that the old holder came out of.

IH built the Farmall AM and Super AM in Geelong. The A is for Australia. I have a parts catalogue for the Farmall AM, which gives the fuse holder part number as 841 053 R92. The AM and Super AM look almost identical to the Farmall M.

This the Australian version of the instrument panel. It is fitted with a Lucas ammeter, fuse holder (I don't know the manufacturer), a Lucas headlamp switch. The small switch to the right of the fuse is not standard. It has been fitted in place of the generator warning lamp.

SadFarmall,

Unfortunately, this is a heavily North American Farmall forum. As you've seen so far, either people have no idea what tractor you have, or they assume it uses the same parts as the American versions.

Our American Farmall Ms use a small "BUSS" style tubular fuse, and the fuse holders can be purchased in any auto parts store for about $2.

Yours is obviously much larger than a BUSS fuse. Must be something British or possibly even uniquely Australian.

Have you checked with an auto parts supplier?

Out of curiosity, could you post a picture of the fuse that goes in that fuse holder?

The fuse for the holder is just a standard glass tube fuse a little over an inch long. The original was 35 amp, which is totally useless as the tractor will just about burn down before the fuse blows.

You cant swap caps between Buss and Little fuse holders.I have one of those larger fuse holders in the shop.An industrial electronic distributor will have the right holder.13/32 fuse holder are expensive though. You may want to change to a 1/4 inch type holder
