1206 brake and steering issues

We have a 1206 diesel that has lost it's steering and brakes. We messed with it awhile back, got it to work for about a half day, then all of the sudden it quit working again. Any ideas what could be causing this?

Maybe an MCV pump or valve issue.

If the pump supplying MCV pressure is suckng air (possible bad intake Oring) it will loose prime and not regain it. If the hydraulic system is at its normal full mark, putting about 5 extra gallons in it will not hurt anything but your finances, while covering the intake leak with fluid. Give it a try. Jim

You might check the gear drive key if the other suggestions do not work. I had one shear in an 806 and would work for a few minutes on cold start up then quit suddenly.
