Farmall Brush Hog

I just bought a 5 foot brush hog that is a fasthitch and has dual blades on it. Anybody have any idea what model it is? I'll get some pics up soon. Thanks, Tony

I have the model number as 2CK-FTC25 in an email from the late Hugh McKay of a few years ago. Hope this helps and I think I have an IHC brouchure on rotary mowers so will post back if I find something else. A photo would be nice to see as the couple I have seen were ready for the rust pile from spending a lifetime outside and mowing in the rocks, Hal.

In looking at my IHC McCormick Rotary Cutters brouchure (No. CR-1204-K) there are two different 60" cutting width fast hitch models shown. I believe this brouchure is from the 1960-61 era for reference. The McCormick No. 26 has two ground contact wheels about mid-way back of the deck one on either side while the McCormick No. 28 is shown with a single gauge wheel centered behind the deck. Both of these models have a single rotary cutter blade. There is no reference to a twin blade unit in this brouchure even for wider models for larger tractors. You might have something built by someone other then IHC which was adapted with the fast hitch prongs which could be purchased separately for such applications. A picture would certainly be helpful to identify your unit, Hal.

I have one that sounds similar but mine's towable. The blades are one set on top of the other, with about six inches vertical separation. More like a stalk chopper, definitely not a finish mower.

I'll get some pictures up this afternoon but it sounds like the same thing as TomH has as it has the dual blades stacked on top each other. It also is set up to pull the fast hitch arms off and use as a three point. No tail wheel on it either. Definitely built by IH as it has the r numbers and ih logo on it. Thanks,Tony

I think the model 28 was the first rotary cutter that came from IH with the option of putting a three point hitch on it. The 25 and 26 did not.

The second blade is the optional shredding attachment.
