I just bought a 52 farmall super c serial#133400, j.d.6 ft.disc, 2 row bottom, 5 ft. box blade, 5 ft. bush hog, and a utility boom for 400 bucks...tractor hasn't ran in 2 years but it is complete and has straight metal.Engine turns over and not stuck. My question is "did the super c come fatory with fenders or was it an option at the dealership? It does have a factory 3 point hitch...did I get stuck? lol... THANKS,POWERLINE

Some days it doesn't pay to get out of bed, does it? Just bring all that stuff on over to my house and I will give you your $400 back, just to rescue you from your predicament.

I'm 99% sure that a 3pt was never a factory option in the early 50s. As mentioned you got ripped. I'll give you 375.

Hey man...my wife is even giving me a hard time about my last purchase!Ihave bought tractors in the past at a fair price, but man!to run across this one!My father has labeled me as a tractor thief!!!But the man named his own price! Do u know anything on those fenders?

Thanks for the 375 offer...lol!...but i will keep u guys around for my brain picking group.Ilive in eastern n.c. and the antique tractor business is keeping me busy for a side job and weekends...THANKS FOR YOUR HELP,POWERLINE

Pull the plug out one at a time and pour some ATF in the cylinder so as to free up the rings and clean up the cylinder walls before you do much if any thing else with it. Buy the way you should be reported to the cop for stealing that tractor LOL

Yep...I just finished a super a with a homemede 3 point. woked good... but I have seen some that wern't thought through very well...looked like a swing set hanging off the back! POWERLINE

Thanks for all the help...I will be making a list of the things that Iam gonna need...I mainly deal STIENER... is there cheaper parts houses?

Fenders may have been an option on SCs, but I never saw one "back in the day" without them. An actual 3 point was never even a factory option on a SC. Fast-Hitch was an option on SCs the last couple of years and could be re-fitted to earlier SCs, and later still, there were both factory and aftermarket 3 point adapters for the Fast-Hitch... maybe your's has one of them.

A lot depends on the stuff you find you will need. Also where you are at shipping plays a big part of the cost of stuff. Here in Missouri where I am there is a place about 100 mile form me I get a lot of stuff from and there cost most of the time is very good

Fenders were an option on the Super C. Most all in the South were sold without fenders. I don't know about up North. The Super C was not available with a factory three point hitch.

If you buy some on ebay, make sure they are complete in terms of u-bolts, etc.

I bought some that were described as "slightly bent", and they were. They, however, did not include the u-bolts. If I added the cost of bolts to what I paid, I could have got a better set.

I made my own u-bolts by threading rod & bending the rod.

Yeah, just about anyone else is cheaper, including CaseIH dealers...

You can buy replacement U bolts for like 9.99 each. I have a set of pretty nice fenders for a C or SC that I'd sell, but shipping them would cost as much as the fenders themselves.

I couldn't tell you if IH ever made fenders standard but I think they cost extra. I grew up on a grain and livestock farm in central Iowa, and the only tractors I ever saw with fenders until the late 50's were the Ford N's and an Oliver or two.

Guys, thank you for all the feedback!Ithink I have found myself a mighty fine bunch of tractor guys who enjoy this expensive hobby as much as I do!Remember me when you run across anything that might be helpful to me...I have restored 3 cubs, 2 of which I sold...1 farmall A...a super A...a 2n...and an 8n,but the super c is my favorite. My dad had one when him and my grand dad where farming,so I want this one to be first rate! Thanks guys! powerline

Great deal!
My uncle had one of the first 404s #532 or 539 I think. Came with one of the first factory 3 points I read. Designed by Ferguson, so his 1960s Ferguson plow he bought (had a 1952 N as well) hooked right up.
He bought it used, the loader broke so the original owner traded it in.
The "IH" 3 point implements that were with it... actually were Dearborn painted IH red with stickers. Not sure if the dealer did that, or if the owner did.
