I'm looking at a set of tires that are currently mounted on 16" x 38" power adjust rims. I need the tires only, but the guy obviously wants to sell it as a set. Is there a demand for these to where it would be worth it for me to purchase as a set and sell the rims by themself? They are in real good shape. If so, what's the value of a pair of these rims? Thank you.

There should be demand for those rims, as I had one Power Adjust rim rusted out, and it was going to cost me about $450 to replace with new. I found a used rim for $200. I believe that mine is a 14x38 rim. If you can stand the initial cost, buy the set, pull off the rims and sell rims for $200 each. Depending on how much he is asking, you might be able to cut your cost considerably. Reminds me of a deal I made on an old trailer. I was planning on building a bridge out of an old flatbed semi trailer. Found one for $500, stripped off the sliding tandem axle assy, and jacks. Sold the axles for $500, and the jacks for $80. Only investment was in towing home ($100 for tow, $500 backhoe labor and about $450 worth of wood for deck). Still cost me over $1,000 out of pocket, but all in all a cheap bridge which works very well.
