square head wheel studs needed

I need some OEM style front wheel studs for my '44 Farmall A and can't find a source for the OEM style with the square head that keeps them from turning. Can anyone point me towards a supplier?

Thanks.

I just went through that same situation with an "A".

If you can live with NC thread instead of NF thread you can get them at the Deere dealer for about $1.50 each, part # 08H4357.

I asked this same question about lug bolts for my M about a year ago. Never did find any, from ANY of the suggested sources. I really wanted NF, grade8, square head. Seems you can have any two out of the three, but not all three...

Sorry,

Ben

Check out Heat Houser link. I got square head bolts from fastenal. Just about any size you need. Has some cast # on head that youcan grind off. After see what guys are charging for used bolts I need another sorce. oldiron29

I got some last summer for front wheel weights for my C. I googled square head bolt. There are several different places you can order from. I got some 3/4" bolts for my rear wheel weights years ago and did the same thing.

Thanks for your suggestions. I was hoping for square head for consistancy.

I will check with Fastenal and the local JD dealer. I have two broken ones (out of six) and all are very worn/rusted to a wasp wasted shape. The are likely origional!

Regards.

That is exactly why I replace all those square headed bolts with new, hex head bolts. Hex head are plentiful and easy to find. Square head are usually NOT available in the exact sizes needed.

An original square head bolt that is 60 to 70 plus years old, even though it still looks good, is still most likely somewhat compromised in strength, and I would much rather see a brand new hex head bolt on an antique machine than have to be afraid that the original fasteners might fail and create a dangerous situation.

I got some from the case dealer. I also found them at the ace hardware store. They both had fine thread square head bolts and nuts.
