[b:942287586b]I want to get a set of fenders for my M, Cheapest ive seen is $125 each from Steiner. Theres a place up the road that deals with old tractors and tractor parts. Im gonna stop up there this weekend. Just wondering what kinda price I can expect to pay for a set of used fenders? Would it just be easier to buy the ones from Steiner? Thanks for the Input

I found a decent set for my H for $200 (for the pair). I was pretty happy with that after all the ones I saw go on ebay for $150 each (plus shipping).

States, You pretty much answered your own question. The rusty ones might be original, but the price will be about the same. oldiron29

If you have the old fenders your local metal shop can probably make you a new set. Call Fred's Welding & metal shop at 410-575-7606 or 410-272-1283. They're between Aberdeen and Edgewood. Hal

???

Why would you pay ~$400 per fender to have them custom made when you can get reproductions for $125 each?

There is no way I would pay more than $75 for a used fender when I can buy brand new reproductions for $120.

[b:7bfa98bf5f]I appreciate everyones opinions, Im more than likely just going to get ones from Steiner's. I can make the mounting brackets at work (Im a machinist), so they'll be a piece of cake.

I wont be getting fenders til closer to spring, I've gotta tear the lift all assembly outta the M, its leaking bad, and I may have to replace the oil pan gasket. Figures they're leaking now since its 30 some degree's out.[/b:7bfa98bf5f]

A few of the guys in my tractor pulling club have the repros and half of them are crap. I also saw about 80% crap repros and 20% good at RPRU in Madison. For one thing the factory fenders had a different roll on the lip than most repros. The factory fenders also weight half again as much as the tin garbage...I mean repros. I know you have been around the block, but others might not be as wise of a consumer.

Yes, I've heard they the repros are crap, but I've also heard from folks that actually have the repros who say they are very nice, and once painted and installed, very few folks could tell the difference.

[b:1a81a4e774]by garbage do you mean fitment issues or just cosmetic flaws? im jw. I havent had time to get to the Yingling's yet to look for a set. Ive been busy workin on snowmobiles, getting them ready for winter.[/b:1a81a4e774]

[b:a0bee34351]well I finally made it up to Yinglings, and brought home some early birthday presents for myself. Picked up a set of fenders and a grill.

Fenders came off of a 300 Utility so one has a spot for a light but I might put a light back on it, they're both in great shape with no rust at all. cost me $80 a piece.

The grill is also in good shape, it has the original lower grill bar, no insert tho, and also has the original "BE CAREFUL etc..." sticker on the top right side. Paid $90 for it, the fins need some straightening but I couldnt pass it up.

Ill get pictures tomrrow morning and post them up. Its too dark here to get pics. Now to order some Fender Mtg. Brackets and some other goodies! (from this site of course!)

Just wanted to give you guys an update, Check back tomorrow for pics.[/b:a0bee34351]

[b:3d9942d780]heres a pic of the fenders, I temporarily put them on the tractor just to get them outta the way. Suprisingly the holes in the axle housings werent too bad to clean out and re-tap.[/b:3d9942d780]

[b:3d9942d780]Heres a pic of the grill and my little fix I had to do on the top. It had 2 small cracks on the crown so I busted out the old Hobart and grinder and went to work (yes I welded the underside also). Then afterwards I sanded the whole top of it and shot some filler primer on it (also temporary). Did a little work straightening the grill bars out also which werent too bad.[/b:3d9942d780]
