Hey everyone new to this board. I have what i think is an F20 serial number FA93231. I bought it 6 years ago for scrap price to put in the yard as yard art. I'm kinda tired of it being yard art anymore and would like to get it driveable again. Problems with that are the engine is frozen solid from not haveing plugs in it for more years than ive owned it and the intake and exhaust manifolds and the mag are gone. I think the only way i would get this tractor going agian is with a repower of some other engine. Dont hate me for thinking that I'm just not in an really rural area that i think i could come up with another engine for this thing. Any ideas on where i should start with this thing? also the rear tires are 14-30 or whats left of them are what size tire range can i run on this thing to keep a look out for.

Christian, Part are cheep for f-20 a lot of them around. You could get an F-20 motor in better shape and swap it. What part of the country are you from? You can ship parts any where.

I'm in Tacoma Washington, i doubt i know for sure i would have to find a head and completely go through the engine, what i spend there i know i can pick up a running motor from and put it in. was thinking an old 4 cylinder or flat head 6 would be interesting, im just looking to be able to drive this thing not much else.

If you are mechanically inclined, it doesn't cost that much to rebuild these old engines. It just seems to me it would be easier than trying to retro-fit something else to it.

just mho

Oh yeah, I've seen all kinds of conversions. I know where one is with a flat-head Ford V8. It's up to you. I believe though the finished product will have very little resale value. But on the other hand restored F20s don't bring a lot either. I have lots of parts if you want to rebuild it. It may not be as bad as you think. Do you see any breaks on the outside of the block? They are a sleeved engine.

Thanks for the response cowman. I'm not interested in resale value. Just trying to save what would be considred a parts tractor at best. I know with enough money it could be completely rebuilt but cash is a factor and its missing the important expensive parts as it is, carb, mag, manifold, frozen block and governor dont help. Figured for the price of the manifold alone i could pickup a running engine of something else and go. If I wanted to put in a SBC i could do that now for nothing but thats not what i want. I would like to find either a 4 or 6 cylinder for it. I know it can be done have seen plenty og google picks of it. Really what i would like is info on what year this tractor is and what kinda rear rubber i can use on it since the 14-30 tires on it are rotted away
