Snow Blade on a Super M

Hello All. I couldn't pass up an 8' back/snow/swivel-blade that looks like it has been used very little and is a monster. I can find no specs online about it except it is Swiss made. The name on the blade says "VRETEN II"- 244N. The ends of the blades have adjustable height wheels, not shoes. As I said, it is a monster. My questions are, has anyone heard of this manufacturer? Also, My father and I are gonna guess it is 600-800 lbs. pounds. I have a Saginaw dual ram 3pt on the M with a narrow frond-end. Anyone see any problems I might encounter with weight? I figure I can always get my money back out of it. Thanks

Sounds like a nice blade, at 8 feet will cover your tire tracks, even angled you have plenty of width. The hitch should pick it up fine, you might get a little light on the front end but then you can add some weight there.

Thanks. I've been waiting for a good 8' for snow. I got it attached tonight (in the rain) and it seems to lift fine. I've never seen a blade like it. You're right, the M may need weight on the front but won't really know until the snow flies. Now to free up the pivot on one of the wheels. I still wish I could find info on the mfgr. Thanks for the reply.

Are you sure it is Swiss and not Swedish? The Vreten I know is Swedish and makes a lot of specialized forestry equipment for the pulp and logging industries. We had a bunch of their stuff in the Amazon on a pulp project I worked on many years ago. They also make serious snowplows. Here is some basic data:

Full company address: Vreten 541, 94, Skovde, Sweden

The only thing out there I could find in English is a brochure on their forestry line:

Yes, that's the company. Thank you. After you posted the tags I was able to find out more about them. I am going to try to contact them and see if I can get any detailed info on this plow. After hoisting it, greasing it, etc it is even more obvious how heavy duty it really is. I've done a number on a few cheap blades, over the last few winters. I don't think this one will be a problem. Thanks again.

I recall someone posting a picture on this forum from time to time of his H (IIRC) lifting another tractor, using the Saginaw (IIRC) 3pt hitch.

Yeah, your tractor's 3pt has plenty of lift capacity for a mere 800lbs.
