I keep getting hydraulic oil into the engine crankcase on my Super C. Gotta be coming through the hyd. pump. Have replaced the "O" rings in the pump but still the oil is leaking through. Any ideas.... Thanks in advance.

yep! I bought a complete repair kit from my IH dealer and the pump now works great. The kit was $20+ dollars and well worth it. There were about 6-8 variations of that pump. Get all the numbers off the pump when you talk to the parts guy.

I haven't played with C pumps, but the oil is leaking past the pump shaft seal. I'm not sure if this seal can be gotten separately.

I just got done fixing the same problem on my Super A. I beleive that the C and the Super A have the same hyd. pump.

There are 2 cover seal rings ( 0 rings ) under the cover bearing spring under the cover bearings. There is an oval O ring which serves as the body seal ring. There are also two O rings that are at the hose connection. It sounds like these are the O rings that you replaced.

Where the drive gear shaft exits the pump body is a seal. This is where my leak was, consistant with what you have already been told. IH used pumps with two different types of drive shaft seals. One type used a pressed in seal. Mine on the other hand had an O ring in pump cover. The O ring seals around the drive shaft and is located in a slot cut in the hole of cover. I did not see it the first 3 times I looked for the seal.

My local IH dealer had a complete kit with instruction for under $20.00. It did not take very long to fix and it works fine.

Hope this helps.

You are exactly right. Had a C with the identical problem.

Good timing (for once) on my part.

My C is doing the same thing, and I came here to search the archives for info on how to service the pump. But first I thought I'd peruse any new forum posts.. thanks for all the info guys.
