Output of a super h generator

Hi, I have a super H, that has a generator that I believe is running pretty weak. My question is, what should be the voltage output of the generator. I have not tested it yet, but when I go to do it, about how much should I be looking for. Thanks for your help.

If your battery is still 6 volts you should see 7-7.2 volts across the battery terminals with the engine at 3/4 throttle or better. Hal

The voltage to which it can raise the battery (from 6.3 setting to near 7 and over) as Hal pointed out at RPM is a good charging test. Make sure the belt is good n tight and BOTH the Genny and VR (or headlight switch if its a cutout relay system) have good grounds. If when shes running you use a jumper to temporarily dead ground the gennys FLD post that allows for max charge independant of any Light Switch or Voltage Regulator problems so see how she charges then???? If she charges strong with the FLD post grounded but NOT otherwise the problems either in the LHBD light switch or the VR or the VR or switch has a bad/resistive ground.
