I posted a few days ago about my 1466 having trouble starting it after it set for a couple of days. You wrote in your reply try using the primer pump to put pressure to the pump head. I tryed that today and that worked. Started by just the touch of the started button. Will I need to pull the pump off and have the pump head rebuilt or is there something I can do from the outside like a O-ring?

Well, I would go for the easy stuff first. There is an o-ring under the primer pump bail, if I remember correctly you can put a small punch in hole plunger stem and screw off the knob to replace o-ring. Other wise, look very carefully for any sign of wetness at the pipes from primary pump to final fuel filter and at filter. Really, if you have a good head of fuel in tank, the pump head should not drain back but if pumping helped it is draining back. There are inlet and outlet check valves in the primary pump and seal on shaft but that would require removal of the primary pump. That can be done without removal of main pump but can get a little tricky with gov spring etc. Main plunger and head should not be contributing to problem. If you have an auxillery fuel tank below pump level that could be a source of the problem also.
