What type mag will fit on a 1950 farmall C? Would a cub mag interchange?

A Cub Mag is the one that WON'T work. IH mags of that era (thinking letter series) were two. The J-4 for the Cub, and the H-4 for everything else. As for H-4s for an A,B,C,H, and gas M (including the Supers) any of them will bolt up and run just fine. The only H-4s that won't work will be those off of diesels and those from a 9 series (BIG Wheatlands), which turn in the opposite direction and have a totally different lag angle.

There may be some other makes of magneto (Wico or others ) that might work, but someone else would have to discuss those.

The H4 magneto fit on your tractor but not on CUB and am still have 2 H4 MAG.

Don't try to use a Cub mag. You want a model H-4, the version used on nearly all the letter series. Just don't get one from a 9-series or a Diesel.
