Yesterday I was plowing my corn and it just went back to idle. To finish I tied the rod going to the carb back so it would run fast enough to do the job. The governor seems to still kick in. It appears to be a problem inside the governor housing. Does anyone have a idea what parts I need to order to make this repair? I didn't want to tear it down till I had the parts to fix it. Thanks for all the help in the past and the present.

Probably just broke a spring. But you NEED to take it apart to see what is wrong.Dont go shooten in the dark!

broken springs are common. So are bearings that are worn and fail to hold positions of components. Using a camera to assure putting it back together. There are no "kits". As noted, just take it apart Jim

RDJ, Had mine with poor control, would idle! but when you move it up a little it would rev out of control. I pulled it apart the bearing was gone not even there anymore. When I put in the new truster bearing it still had play in linkage so I added a washer and that took out the play and now it is fine. Oldiron29
