Hi,
I'm try to get a IH 251 2 row planter field ready that I just aquired. It seems the seed carrier is broke in two with half of it gone (not sure if that is the correct name). The numbers on the plate are 621704R2.

Any suggestions on where I might find one? Thanks, Brad

ITs called a 'plate'.You can replace it with a plastic 'C' series for about 7 bucks.See your seed dealer for the correct 'cell' for seed size you are planting.each different seed size requires a different size plate.your seed dealer can help you with this.Planter plates are becoming obsolete.but they are still available.I still use them (JD 71)

Brad,Go to Binderbooks or your IH dealer buy a BOOK imediatly.it will give you all the info you need for gearing, populations, settings,so that planter can do the best job it can for you

Thanks but I didn"t do a good job of describing my need. This plate is a heavier steel or cast base that is the lowest part below the seed bin/seed plates. It has a slight drop down neck that goes toward the seed tubes.

I can post pics this evening.

I'm sure IH used the ssame seed bucket on many planters.See if you can find a junker in a fencerow.Still available from dealer?dont know,go find out.good luck!

No luck with the dealer route...checked yesterday. I have a couple places to call here in MO who deals in old equipment, etc.

It may have to be a 1 row planter this season :D
