Remote Hydralics on C

I am considering installing remote hydralic on Farmall C. Is it simple matter of "bolt-on" the
control to the side of pump assembly? I have only seen this set-up once and did not look real close. Want to use to raise wagon bed. I looked at parts illustration on Case IH website and it appears to be two-way set-up.

Thanks

There are 2 ways you can put a remote on a C. The first is to get a bypass block and put it between the manifold and the T/C unit. The other way is to get the factory remote for the C/SC/200. I have a picture of my Cub with the bypass block valve and my Super C with the factory remote. The cub usese a spool valve to run the remote. While the Super C uses the factory remote to do it all. let me know if you have anymore questions. The Cub is the top picture the bottom is the Super C.

The remote valve pictured in Andrew's bottom picture is a tough part to find. You can get brand new bypass blocks from a vendor on eBay.

Both options will cost about the same overall, because hydraulic spool valves aren't cheap anymore, even from surpluscenter dot com.

The by-pass block and a control valve are pretty easy and fast to find/obtain. The Super C valve is usually hard to locate.
Here's a link to a by-pass block on Ebay

I am going to say that the bypass block way is better than the super c valve anyway. You can have a more useful system since you can easily instal a 2 or 3 spool remote valve for any combination of hydraulic equipment you may wish to use. for example, you can leave your fast hitch cylinder in place while operating a towed disk harrow with its own lift cylinder. The down side is the spiderweb of hoses doesn't look clean and simple, but it's a small price to pay for a little more modern functionality.

If you are wanting to lift a wagon box then you will need to add an oil reservoir. The touch control unit only holds 3 quarts. You can plumb it to run two-way cylinders but a one-way will not work without extra capacity. I did this on my C and I have a couple of hundred dollars in all of the hoses, fittings, valve, and reservoir tank.

Thanks for the responses. I guess I have some options that I need to consider once I figure ourt what all of you have said.

If I use the by-pass block I assume I use one of the touch contol levers to actuate the remote hydralic system also. May be a dumb question and should be obvious, but.......
Thanks.
