snow plow question super A

Just picked up a snow plow and am mounting it. Ive looked for pics of how the super A snow plow is mounted, cant find any, but have found several of a cub. Is the cub mounting and super A the same? The only parts I dont have with this plow are the 2 brace arms that go from the plow frame up to the side of the tractor block, near the starter. I assume this is where it would go as this is how the cub is. Is this correct? Looking at this mounting point on the side of the engine, the 2 holes arnt very beefy. Would it make since to reverse the draw bar and send 2 arms from the plow frame to the draw bar? I think this would be a stronger set up. What would you guys do.

Thanks again for all your help.

Ron

check e-bay as there always seem to be manuals for the ubstalling the blade on the A. I will have allthe parts shown for attaching

Ron, you are correct at the mounting point on the torque tube by the starter, I'm not sure about reversing the drawbar and mounting from there, if it was a solid axle like Cs and larger I would say it is the best place to mount the plow, but I would be a little leary about mounting on those dropped axles. You may be ok pushing snow, but if you hit a rock in the driveway or other hidden obstacle you could break a cast part that will be expensive to fix or replace.

I would thing that draw bar would be stronger than the 2 holes in the torque tube. Look how much weight and force that bar takes when plowing dirt. When you use the grader blade mid mount, arent you attaching the rear of the blade frame to the dropped axle holes or drawbar?

but, if its designed for mounting on the torque tube thats what I will probably do.

I just mounted one on a farmall 130.You can go to external_link and order a manual for the 60 series blade. Also there is a picture there with one on a SuperA that is not bad. I also think the part your talking about mounts on the side where the Fert. Dist. mounts.
