thanks for answering my post the other day. while the picture you posted is not what I was describing, I know where one of those is also. i should have a picture by early next week. My question is: what do you think the value is of the tractor as it appears in the photo you posted. thanks for your help. Lee

OK Lee,

I presume you are referring to the picture of the H roller tractor sitting on top of a trailer.

I am not that proficient when it comes to assigning value. I like unusual stuff and that is why I saved the picture somebody else posted many years ago. It was used as a lawn roller during the springtime. Because it is different, and if I were still accumulating tractors, I would pay more for that tractor than a "Plain Jane" H. But that assumes that I would buy a H at this point in my life. Not very likely.

Price variables are due to condition, location, seller's expectations, and what strikes your fancy. Maybe that tractor could be bought for $2500, but who knows.

I think what you are describing is a tractor that has some sort of fifth-wheel type set-up on the back, that the roller hooks to. Then the tractor front axle is removed, and the tractor rear axle becomes the front axle of an articulated unit, something like a modern scraper pan?
