pan seat repair

Most of these pan seats rust out along the front edge where the crimpped trim piece is applied. Mine is like that also. Will J.B. Weld or another product stick to it well enough that it will keep the edge of the seat from ripping or damaging a new seat cover?

Just weld a new piece on, bend the edge over so it's smooth, then install the seat cover.

The trim piece that goes around the edge of the seat is still in place. It has spread open a little, which gives it a raised edge. The front of the seat has a few holes in it along the trim piece. Otherwise it is pretty good shape.

Looks like a job for duct tape. I believe that I had better not try to weld the holes shut.

JB Weld will fill the hole but it will not hold the ring in place. I weld mine then smooth with bondo.
