Super C Thermostat

Crazy question.... where is the thermostat located in the super C? Is it between the block and the outlet housing or is it in outlet housing itself? I looked at the manual and it really doesn't show anything except that it uses a retainer ring.... any pictures would be great... thanks

crasy answer, so simple, remove top hose and if its there it will be looking at you.if not there it was removed.

Thanks for the crazy answer! I removed the upper hose and looking down in there is no thermostat.... looks like somebody took it out... and explains why the anti freeze ran like a river..
Looks like i need to order the retainer ring from IH. Not there. I assume that the thermostat mounts with the flush side up?

So whats the big deal about a thermostat those engines were built and ran for years till someone thought it would be nice to have a thermostat but they forgot a by-pas for the coolant to move before the thermostat opened.

If it has not had a new style thermostat in it before you will have to order a spacer ring to install under the thermostat and a snap ring to put on top of the thermostat. CHN parts are Snap Ring #105-22212, Spacer #690798C1, and the Thermostat #12032008. Hope this helps.

In the above post the thermostat part number may be 3042303R92. My memory isn't what it used to be.
