Electrolysis basics

The electrolysis idea is interesting to me. I understand the science behind it and I was wondering how to set up a tank. I know you use a battery charger. Have that. I know you have a piece of scrap to sacrafice. Have that. I also know you have a part to be cleaned. Other than that I have no clue. I know this has already been posted about before, but could you please run it past me again?

I have made a tank from a 250 gal water tote(one of those with the cage around it) I just cut the top out of it. Used 4 pieces of 2" angle iron in the four corners for electrodes.Wired them together and you're done. I also made two out of 5 gal. buckets for small stuff. Works great as long as you're not in a hurry for your part. Most parts take a day or two if not badly rusted. I used the big tank to do my hood, grill, fenders and other large parts from my Super A. Total cost so far is about $12.

Thanks go out to all posters for all of your input and for sharing your knowledge with me. I am a fair mechanic and have always been able to make things run well, but most of my projects are still in their "work clothes". Now I will be able to make some nice running equipment nice looking as well!!! Thanks again y'all!! Kippster
