Spirit of 76 Tractor

Does anyone know anything about an IH tractor, I think a 1066, built in 1976 with a special paint scheme? I think it was called The Spirit of 76 or maybe it was called a Bicentennial tractor. An employee of the local IH dealer (about 30 years ago) told me that this tractor had a very impressive paint scheme and that only a very limited number were built--dealers were only allotted 1 each. If these tractors were actually built; are there any of them left-was the paint scheme the only identifying characteristic-does anyone have any other information about them?

Did some googling, and all I found was a Case.

Hey everyone.......there was a 1066 that celebrated IH's 5,000,000 th tractor......the cab and hoods were white and the wheels were chromed. There is a small picture on page 205 of Baumheckel and Borghoff's International Harvester farm equipment product history 1831-1985
Sorry I can't get the picture up.
It is out there,
Tom

The spirit of 76' was just a name for the black striped 66 series. They only had this paint for one year. There is a vintage add in the "vintage add photo gallery" that says its a "spirited new look". They also have the higher RPM setting at 2,600 instead of 2,400

my neighbor has a spirit of "76 settin in his pole barn. he used it for quite a few years until the 2plus2"s came out for tillage...other than that it just ran augers and pulled a few wagons..has around 6K hours on it now just setting with 2 flat tires.

cub cadet also made a garden tractor version of the spirit of 76.my dad and grandfather sold ih and cub cadets and we still have a spirit of 76 garden tractor in the basement
