Hello again fellows someone told me that I could drain all the 90w gear oil from my stearing box and put in 4 tubes of greese then oil would not alway run out of seels. Is this a good fix. Just tryn to keep the old boy goin. Forgive my not knowing much bout this computer stuff still lernen.

I packed my H with grease to solve that problem. Read it on here at some time 2 years or so ago. It don't seem it took that much grease for the H. My A isn't leaking yet I would like to here the responses.

mopman: I've got one on grease, going on 25 years, no more leaks, no more mess. Secret is you have to fill it with grease in the beginning, then every time your grease the tractor, pump 5-10 pumps in the steering box, then all new grease goes to worm, gear and bearings. It does take 3-4 tubes for that initial fill up on an offset tractor.

I pumped 4 1/2 tubes into the box. I pulled the drain plug out and put a greese fitten in it then I pumped my brains out that didt take much to do with the brains anyway I thougt I would see greese come up to the top fill hole after all 4 1/2 I nevr seen any but it did come out the level hole when I took the scruw out. Did I do it right or not.

i ues epc or more common corn head grease. its more fluid and wont just move away from the gears i also ues it in a lot of gear boxs on rotery cutters, some manufactory load the gear boxs with it now. if a seal goes bad it wont just run out and most time you catch it before it runins the gears or bearing. i been using it in my trailer axles now for several years and havent had any problems and no leaky seals to mess up my brakes
