I am having a problem with throttle response. Tractor wont idle down and has very little change at high idle. have checked for binding on carb side. tractor runs fine. Seems like governor may not be returning on low side. Any suggestions? Bradley

Hi Bradley,

You're on the right track, pull the gov. off, you will probably find binding or slop on the shaft that connects the linkage to the carb. Check the pins the weights pivot on and the bearing on that shaft while it's apart. I just about have the gov. on my A done being rebuilt, had to replace all the parts inside, don't forget the bump spring on the bottom, most parts are still available from CIH dealer, one part I got from Joe's Farmall parts.
