H With rebuilt mag will only start when pulled Tractor runs great just wont start with starter can anyone help? thanks BartMan

Good battery 750 to 800 CCA.
Heavy cables 00gauge including ground strap
Clean good brushes in starter.
God impulse coupling in Mag. Must click when at starting RPM. If not it will not start hand cranking, or electric. JimN

Thanks will listen to mag click at start sometimes it turns over too easy i dont re call hearing click spin noise when it starts to spin over fast and easy. carb spills gass after little choke

Sounds like the rotor mite be off a tooth. Make a mark with black magic marker where the tower on the cap;ines up on the body of the mag. Now remove the cap and turn the engine over see where the rotor stops before it fires.a s just being off one tooth will make them hard to start but will start if you pull it.

It is possible for a mag equipped tractor to spin fast enough to disengage the impulse coupling but not fast enough to produce a hot enough spark to start. Especially true on 6 volt starters with a 12 volt battery.

A mag will fire any time it is turned. I use a hand crank on by B, with a mag, and I crank it slow, then give it a flip and starts right up. I would suggest checking to make sure you have good compression, henceforth, good vacaumn to pull fuel into the engine, or loose manufold or carb mounting bolts. when you pull it, the engine is turning fast enough to create a little more vacumn than you get with starter alone. .
