1957 IH utility 350 steering sector side shaft

Hello,
I would appreciate any leads on helping find/get rebuild parts for my steering sector side shaft(left)(1957 IH utility 350 non-power steering). The ball(missing)(I am assuming it is some sort of ball type fitting that rides the worm gear) that rides in the worm gear and drives the 2 shafts is gone, and looks like was built up with welds at some time for a fast(stinkin' lousy) fix. I want to fix it right and it looks like can possibly be re-pinned and add a new ball. Can I get these parts? If not, do I need a whole new side shaft? It is not power steering. I have looked several places online but am not having luck so far finding anything(parts, schematics or otherwise). If anyone here has one I'd like to talk! Also, If anyone has a breakdown schematic, it would be great and a huge help also as I can fab one if necessary. Thanks, Coop

Thanks for the picture. Glad I can see what it is supposed to look like instead of a welded up gob ground to a nub. I appreciate the response. Coop

mightyhammer, I had a new "NUB" made by my local machinist, he hardened it as best he could, seems to be working OK. I think I still have the old "NUB" if you need a pattern to build from.

That would be great. I was going to pattern one from the worm gear and the pic i got from the other fine gentleman. I found the shaft on the IH case site...Not sure if they can get it yet. Curious to see how much it will cost if they have it. Coop

Can any one provide me with some relative/exact specs on this little nub. I am going to make one in the machine shop and would like something close to actual dims so I don't have to reinvent the wheel. Thanks, Coop

The real way to fix this issue is to go with a kit from Jackson power steering. I have a machine sitting and I'm trying to scrape up the dough to go this route. Until then if anyone has a reasonably priced 365840r91 shaft I'll consider buying it PM me and I'll get in touch. I really need to get firewood out of the woods.
