2500a [574] fuel question,

I have been tracking a problem with my back hoe, it is a 2500a series with a D239 engine into it, the same as a 574 and others, I replaced the seal in the injector, only to have the fuel still getting in teh crankcase after an hour of operation,, this time the seal pushed out about 1/4"

got a new seal today and saw a injector guy and he said to look for a 2 way relief?valve in teh return line.. any one familar with this

I can feel where the line comes into the bottom of the tank but it only feels like a normal fitting,, with teh backhoe down and the outriggers down its hard to see anything so its all by feel,, of course its ou in teh field to.. any suggestions, can I just blow through the leak tube off the injectors and see if it blows through teh tank?

thansk pat

Hi, I assume you are referring to the seal on the drive shaft of the fuel injection pump
If the drive shaft has a groove worn in it a new seal will not fix the problem.
When replacing the seal besure to lube the seal and shaft seal lubricant. The seal must be seated squarely and flush to surface of pump.
I use a deep socket to seat the seal.

Hope this helps
