2400B PTO Problems

I have a few shop manuals for my tactor, but they do not seem to have alot of info on the PTO. The PTO spins fine, but as soon as I attach the brush hog, it totally looses power. Is there a seperate manual for the PTO? Any info will be helpful. Seems like it is a pressure issue. I have owned it for 4 years, but never tried the PTO until recently.

Hi Shannon, I believe the 2400B is the industrial version of the agricultural 464 model.
The PTO is engaged by a hydraulic clutch pack in the rear of the tractor. The PTO clutch is activated by a valve on the top rear of the MCV valve which is behind the hydraulic filter under the left foot rest. There are mechanical and pressure adjustments BUT the usuall problem is the control cable from the PTO lever or the PTO control valve is sticking. Spray your favourite penetrating oil on the mechanism. You may have to lift the rubber boot covering the PTO control valve and spray oil on the valve while working the PTO valve on and off.
