Fast hitch down pressure

Hi everybody, How do I delete the down pressure on the fast hitch for a Farmall 400? I recently purchased a drum mower, and I do not want to bury it in the ground when I am mowing hay. Thanks! Jake

There is a pin on the vertical lift rod that you remove to let the hitch float. The pin is near the top. there is a hole on left upright of drawbar to store the pin. (Don't forget to replace the pin when towing wagons or the wagon will take you for a ride).

Thanks Wolfman! I will take a look and try to figure it out. I was also told that there is a valve that can be adjusted from double acting to single acting in close proximity to the spool valves. Will that work? Thanks. Jake

yes, pull the right side hood, and you will see some round bars sticking out of the tops of the valves, with a flat spot on each side, just turn it from one stop to the other. I goofed up and didn't get one turned all the way using too big a wrench, it's hard to get a good angle on it, and it pressurized the system. The starter wouldn't even crank more than about three times.
