Good Morning, I need to change grease in the rear end of my H and need to know what is best to put in it, and capacity. Thank You!

80w-90w 6 gallons. There ia a plug on the side below the clutch pedal in that ball park. You will get just shy of 6 gallons in there and it will start to run out. You can go to farmall h .com and get your specs and a picture.

Best Ive found is flush it out with diesel fuel. Run it around the yard with the diesel in with no load on it. Drain the fuel and gunk out. Then fill with 5 gallon pail of good quality 80-90 gear oil and one gallon of lucas oil stabilizer. My h runs quieter than it has and it is cheap protection for those 60 year old straight cut gears. Plus how often do you really change the fluid? Not often so why not spend a little extra? Just my experience. Good luck.

(quoted from post at 08:43:42 06/21/09) The others are right but my self I prefer the 80W-140 oil works as good but is better in hot weather
I agree. It doesn't hurt a thing and may help a 60 year-old set of gears.
