Source for this valve?

A friend has a starter tank for me, but tells me it needs a valve. I checked my junkyard, and all the MD's with starter tanks don't have the valve. Does anyone know of a source where this valve can be purchased new?

Yes, it's just a simple brass valve with standard pipe threading.

I used one on my fuel tank and they're called needle valves. bjr

Unless the threads are stripped, the valve you have might be good to use. I say this because it looks (from the photo) that the valve has been both soldered, and brazed into the tank. The solder (silvery color) looks to be on the fitting in the tank, to the tank. The braze looks to be on the valve to fitting. If so the solder will melt first and leave the fitting on the valve. If the valve is leaking, it might be easy to have the needle (turnable part) machined in a lathe to make it new.

I didn't say it, but this is not my tank. Just a picture I found.

The tank I'm getting has no valve at all. But from the sounds of it, it shouldn't be too hard to find. Thanks!
