PTO seal super c

Took seal out looks to me like more than seal came out seal I got at napa not as thick as that. That seal went all the way to bearning what is going on help. This site all it shows is a seal. Thanks for any help

New seals are often narrower than the ones they replace. I drive them in until they are touching a un grooved piece of shaft, make sure they are even and call it good. JimN

Nothing wrong, seals today are made differently than they were 50 years ago. The new seal is the result of years of R&D, they now have better sealing lips and are thinner. Just seat the seal flush with the outside and it will be fine.

I took all this out of my IH 240 Utility and replaced with one thin seal a couple years ago. David................
