Lift-All Problem

The liftall pump on my MD won't lift the transport disk. It's got the NAPA R and O fluid in it right now. I know it's a one way system, so I've got the return line back to the cylinder disconnected to act as a breather. Would using 30 wt. non detergent oil ( as IH originally recommended) make it work?? It does make a feeble attempt to lift the disk, but doesn't seem to build enough pressure. As always, any help appreciated.

On a good day I get 800 PSI out of my pump with 30 oil. You may need to larger dia. cylinder. Do you have enough oil in your system to fill the cylinder?

The type of oil in the pump is not real critical on these older systems, but the quantity IS critical, so like the other guy said, make sure there is enough oil in the reservoir.

Also, I remember several years back using an H to plant corn with a 4 row planter. The lift-all had been working perfectly for about 40 acres, and then suddenly just refused to lift the planter. I dropped the pump out of the tractor, took it to a neighbor who did mechanic work, and he opened it up, removed a shim or two from the pump mechanism, put it back together and the pump worked just fine again.

First you need to put a inline 2000Lb gauge and find out your max pressure. If it is below 800. Look at the pump for the problem.
