856 brakes question

Had the new to me 856 out the other day pulling the cultipacker and the brakes started making noise like they were slightly engaged. I was using them to turn at the field ends like normal and they worked fine but not many rounds and I could tell they weren't releasing all they way and the covers were real hot. Is there some sort of hydraulic issue or do I just need to pull the covers and start poking around? Something that needs to be cleaned and lubed under the covers?

Well it could be that you have a lot of brake dust built up in the drum and your return springs are shot and you may have one or even both self adjusters not working or stuck could also be that the insulator plate on the brake piston came off the piston and somehow got wedged and has one side draging . So to find out your going to have to open it up and look . And if you don't have at least and I T manual to help you along you may not figure it out as i sure can not see it
