cub in barn part 2

hey fellas got my cub running, clutch is less than desirable, whats the proper adjustments? nother words how to! thanks, brad

It depends on the year ! On my 54 and 55 you adjust it on the clutch pedal.

On the bottom of the pedal there is a bolt in a slot you loosen and move tell you get what you need.
I wish i could tell you more but everyone will be differnt.

There is on the older ones a adjustment underneeth in the bell housing that does the same thing. Remember the throw out bearing has a zirk fitting so make sure it has some lube.

Your just adjusting the movement of the throw out bearing as far as engagement and disengagement of the clutch.

Lets hope it just needs to be used due to its time sitting.

Three years ago a gentelmen told me he had a 54 that has been stored in a barn for 30 years, "sure you do". He did and i bought it, the motor wasnt stuck but the valves were.

I had to rebuild both bull gears due to leaks and free the valves other then that it is mint for it"s age. It still has the orignal seat "perfect" the orignal tires "perfect" and the trans is dead silent unlike so many others.

What do you mean by "less than desirable?"

If it's slipping, no adjustment is going to help. Replace it.

The pedal should have about an inch of free play between the platform edge and the pedal arm, measured horizontally.
