Ok here goes, I am pulling my hair out on this one, I have a Int 2500A TLB, with teh D239 engine in it, It runs good, a little blue smoke out the exhaust, nothing abnormal,. [always had a bit, mostly after idling] .
I was using it to move some dirt around a few weeks ago, and a buddy noticed a few trails of BLACK "oil". I figured my "CAV" fuel filter gasket was leaking [just changed the filters out],, he looks closer and sees "oil" coming out the blowby pipe,, not just coming out pouring out like a hose,,
We smell it and it smells like diesel fuel,, oh boy,, figure I am going to have a oil pan full of fuel, not, no fuel in the oil pan??
I ended up changing the oil yesterday just to be on the safe side, it was black,,,I started the backhoe and see a little blowby coming out the pipe,, thats normal,, so I worked it a bit,, no troubles , I figured maybe the oil was too thin,, NOT,,,
after it warmed up a bit from working it, I had to dig up a BIG tree stump, I get off the machine and look I have fuel POURING out the blowby pipe,, I had a puddle under the machine,,
drove the maching back to the shop and had intermittent streams of fuel on the ground,,
so I am baffled,, I have fuel oil coming out the blowby pipe,, also in a few spots on the mating edges of the enging and head gasket it looks like fuel or oil seeping out in between?/
I checked the new oil and it is spotless, looks like I just put it in, which I did less than 1/2 hr worktime,,
not sure where to start looking,, I had the valve cover off thinking I would find a broken valve spring or valve, all the valves are hitting true, and I went through and checked all the tension on the upstroke of the valve and they are all good and tight, no wobble or anything,,
could an injector be spraying fuel constantly into the engine and giving me excess fule in teh head area?? could the head gasket be shot, warped head of block,, just never saw fuel coming out the mating edges,, also there is no oil in the water, or water in teh oil,,,,seems all fuel trouble,,
injector pump,, Nooooooooooooo........ any way to check, its a bosch,
any help or checks or opinions would be helpful, I know a bit about a lot of things, but really not a master at one thing, you know what I mean,,
thansk for your help, sorry for the LONG BOOK, but wanted to give enuff info,
pat
