Cub 184 loboy

We have 2 of these "184" loboys and both have the electric pto units and both are in need of rebuilds. Parts availability and cost of the parts that may be available are excessive. Has anyone interchanged these electric pto units with one from a different model, such as the 154 or the 185, or will dimensions/etc. allow a interchange, or are these other units dependable, with parts available? Any ideas or advice would be appreciated.
Thank You in advance.

The 154 and 185 both use a different pto clutch assembly that engages with a lever to the left of the operator seat. They use a ball type cam mechanism to lock in the clutch plates. These are expensive to rebuild also. You may check with the folks at Farmallcub.com forum as for options.
