farmall h dripping anti freeze

My farmall H 1948 has a small anti freeze drip that is comming out of the center bolt of the fan. What seal is there??? and any ideas to fix it?? thanks john

There is a complete pump packings/seal, its hard to explain with out a manual. You can rebuild it yourself if your up to it or order a re-manufactured one. however before that i would try a bottle of aluminum flake radiator sealer. My fathers Super H had a very slight weep from the water pump put that in and its been fine for over 2 years. That was a small leak though maybe a few drops or so a day.

If you look at the fan assembly, you may notice a round brass piece that has 4 slots milled into it, on the front side of the fan. On my 400, you take a drift or punch and tighten this packing nut, just enough to get it to stop leaking. It is possible to over tighten it and then you will need to buy a new piece of packing material. I don't know if your H uses this same system or not.
